Fran Strine has toured with the bands for over 3 years, and has stored his day to day work on an external hard drive. The drive failed when Staind lead singer Aaron Lewis jokingly threatened to tip over a table in Strine’s workspace–then he accidentally knocked the hard drive off, instantly damaging the delicate read/write heads that hard drives use to access data. “He asked me, did you have that whole thing backed up? I shook my head no” said Strine.

The hard drive had promotional pictures from Staind’s 2009 tour, in total about 9 months of video and pictures that couldn’t be replaced, and promotional pictures for rock giants Nickelback. At Lewis’s urging, Strine immediately looked online for a data recovery company, and found ESS Data Recovery.
